“Cock-a-doodle-doo!”…
“Cock-a-doodle-doo!”
It’s five o’clock in the morning and I feel like
laying on my cozy mattress covered with white sheet, converse with myself for
hours and surf the net all day. As I turned my body toward my study area, I saw
my to-do-list and yeah, I got ton of works to accomplish. Unfortunately, I am
not in a good state and Bruno Mars is singing behind my head, “Today I don’t feel like doing anything…”
While I create scenarios in my head, here comes my dad
shouting, “Breakfast is ready!”
Despite being lethargic for the day, I stood up and fix my bed, otherwise I’m
going to ruin my dad’s delightful day. And as I take my step toward the dining
space, I sensed the strong but sweet aroma of my best-tasting coffee brewed in
my favorite Starbucks-logoed mug. I took a sip of it and it seemed that the
coffee turned me into the superhero I need to be.
The race is on. As a student who’s occupied with tasks
but still idle, the only thing that can drag me from inactivity is a steaming
hot coffee. This liquid gold is packed with high levels of antioxidants and
mind-buzzing nutrients that can help in improving alertness. Aside from this,
taking a sip of coffee contributes to enhancing my short-term capabilities so I
can easily learn and absorb new information especially when I do an extensive
study session. Therefore, it is indeed an extremely healthy beverage!
The aroma… the taste… the depth. That vigorous warm
bittersweet liquid ebbing through my thin ceramic mug continuously penetrates
my soul and fuels me and keeps me going.
Don’t get me wrong, but I’m in love with coffee in any
fashion. It could be in hot coffee, black coffee, white coffee, cold brew, or
whatever it is, whatever the weather is, nothing can hold me back from gulping
a cup of coffee (or even two). After that, I can continue tackling my academic
tasks.
Maybe if you’re a newbie to a coffee culture, I
implore you not to gulp as much coffee as I could. Moderation is the key. One
sip at a time.
And if you’re looking for a sign to drink coffee, this
is it! Have a brew-tiful day!
