The words I read are like portals to a new realm. It was addicting.   I did not notice the time passing by because I keep on reading so I could reach the end to know whether it gives happy ending or not. Turning pages is living another life. It gives opportunity to wander to another world. It makes me feel another sentiment. It is incessant satisfaction. To read a book is not just for pleasure and a good thing to waste time. Researches proved that reading aids your mental health. As the events in the stories reach and implies tension, more part of the brain lit up. Hence, books are reflected as one of the best sources of knowledge. Once you open a book, you will certainly gain a new knowledge. Moreover, books are e...

My Personal Secretary

Source: https://pngimg.com/image/18883 My Personal Secretary by: Aiza Claire Parel                         The real battle has begun… First day of classes and I woke up realizing that I need to go to school to attend my classes. It’s been weeks and it came to my senses that I got a lot of things to do. Feeling overloaded... As I turned my body toward my study area, I saw my to-do-list and yeah, I got ton of works to accomplish. Unfortunately, I am not in a good state and Bruno Mars is singing behind my head, “Today I don’t feel like doing anything…” While I create scenarios in my head, here comes my dad shouting, “Breakfast is ready!” Despite being lethargic for the day, I stood up and fix my bed, otherwise I’m going to ruin my dad’s delightful day. And as I take my step toward the dining space, I sensed the strong but sweet aroma of my best-tasting coffee brewed in my favorite Starbucks-logoed mug. I took a sip of it and it seemed that the coffee turned me into the superhero I need to be. T...

When the Wolves are Silent

Image
Eagle-eyeing at the clear night sky, appears a fascinating small arc-shaped object and I must admit it mesmerizes me every time it shows a glint of light like a broken glass. Its magical view elevates my soul into even more sophisticated plane. Its monochromatic view graces the heavens and all that surrounds it. It came to me like a lullaby that comforts a child exasperated under the starry night sky. Its warm milky radiance in the sky became a melody in my soul that tickles my heart as I raise my head upward. It synchronized with my pounding heart with its idyllic companion. As I am making waves by myself, its dim silhouette made me realize that it is okay to dwell in obscurity. Its haunting light takes my breath away as it journeys with me in my gloomiest periods. Steadfast, it sojourns me to the dimension of mystery with solitude and tranquility. Its silvery light beams at me and it unbolts a doorway to healing. When my lamp is dying out, its presence makes my soul lit up yet again....
